I chose a career in Psychiatry because I believe that early interventions can decrease suffering. There is a great need right now for mental health guidance that is insightful and conscientious, and I want to be on the frontlines of providing that kind of care. I love seeing my patients develop insight and make incremental improvements over time.By extending compassion and providing education about diagnoses and treatment,I am able to establish trust, which leads to a rewarding therapeutic relationship with better outcomes. In my spare time I enjoy playing music, writing, cooking, and spending time with my family, both nuclear and extended.

Anthony Bui is a 2nd generation Vietnamese American, born and raised in Orange County. He completed his Psychiatry residency at University of California, Irvine and his Child and Adolescent Fellowship at University of California, San Diego. From a young age, he gravitated towards counseling, the arts, and science. To him, psychiatry is the convergence of all three and allows him to provide care while engaging his passions. In his spare time he enjoys playing music, writing, cooking, and spending time with family, both nuclear and extended.
