Elizabeth Rubio, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Why did you decide to go into the field? I've always enjoyed listening to people’s stories and understanding what makes them who they are. My journey to becoming a therapist started with a simple desire to connect with people on a deeper level. I wanted to turn my passion for these meaningful connections into something that could truly help others. The idea of therapy being approachable and light, rather than heavy and clinical, just made sense to me. I love the thought of sitting down with someone over a friendly chat (maybe even with some boba) and helping them make positive changes in their lives. It’s like having a heart-to-heart with a purpose, and that’s what keeps me inspired every day. What is the best part of your job? The best part of my job is seeing my clients leave a session feeling lighter and relieved, like they've just unloaded a heavy backpack. Although we can’t solve everything in one session, it feels great to see that progress, one chat at a time. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that I can help make someone's day a little brighter and their burden a bit lighter. Do you have any hobbies? I love to travel and immerse myself in different worlds through food, music, and language. Music is my favorite coping skill—I’ve got a playlist for every mood and occasion. When I'm not jamming out, you'll find me breaking a sweat on the dance floor (aka my living room). Dancing is my go-to exercise, and I dance like nobody's watching every chance I get (and sometimes, nobody is!). To unwind, I curl up with a good movie and some popcorn. I also enjoy long walks, hiking, charcoal drawing, photography, and crocheting.
